Formed in the spring of 2007, (waning) has dedicated their music to exploring the half-awake dream spaces.

Originating from the Sacramento experimental music scene, the duo of Jim Willig and Susan Hunt released numerous CDrs dedicated to dark ambient sounds, always with an underlying musicality that set them apart from their noisy peers. The duo then took the step of adding Scott DeMedeiros of local pop-punker the No Goodniks on drums.

The band maintained their dark vibe, but the sound solidified into something new altogether. (waning)'s new sound combines the stark, morose soundcapes with thundering low end riffs.

Jim Willig has also collaborated on past recordings with Auricular Record's artist Noisepsalm and has played live with Alan Herrick of Nux Vomica and Math Lewis of Noisepsalm.
